Tongues of Fire Make Humans Tabernacles | Ascension to Pentecost

Ten days of waiting. Now, the wait is over. In Day 7 of our Ascension to Pentecost series, Pentecost finally arrives. Wind rushes into the upper room — the same breath of God that filled the first human in Genesis, now filling the co-rulers of the ascended King Jesus. Then small pillars of fire appear above each person's head. The fire isn't random. Throughout Scripture, fire marks where God is. It set apart the burning bush, descended on Mount Sinai, and hovered over the tabernacle as a sign that God was dwelling there. Now that same fire appears above each of Jesus' followers — marking them as the place where God dwells. The God who once filled a tabernacle now fills human beings. This is also the reversal of Genesis 6, where rebellious spiritual powers filled humans with their own corrupt image. Now the true Son of God has ascended, and the Holy Spirit is remaking humanity in the image of Christ. Not corrupted images of rebel gods — but true sons and daughters of God. The wait is over.
