The Blind Faith Jesus Is Looking For

What if the thing you're holding onto the tightest is the very thing Jesus is asking you to release? Most of us are carrying something right now that we're trying to fix in our own strength. A situation that used to work but isn't working anymore. A area of life we keep saying we've got handled — while quietly falling apart on the inside. In Luke 7:1–10, we meet a man who had every reason to rely on himself. He was powerful. He was respected. He had authority over hundreds of people. And he had a problem that none of that could fix. So he did something that changed everything. He stopped trying to control the outcome — and trusted Jesus with just his word. In this study we walk through what that kind of faith actually looks like: → Humility isn't thinking less of yourself — it's trusting Jesus when you are no longer in control of the outcome. → Jesus doesn't move based on what you deserve — He moves based on what He has planned. There's a big difference between those two things. → Real faith doesn't need to see it to believe it — the centurion didn't need Jesus in the room. He just needed His word. Do we have that kind of trust? In this episode Kelvin shares one of the most personal stories he's ever told on this channel — the moment at 19 when he refused to accept he was losing his vision, the doctor's appointment at 28 that left him sobbing in the chair, and the day at 32 when he sat at his computer and realized there was nothing left to hold onto. No backup plan. No control. Just Jesus. Scripture: Luke 7:1–10 Theme: Humility, blind faith, and trusting Jesus when you're out of control This is one of the most raw and honest studies Kelvin has shared. If you're tired of trying to hold everything together on your own — this one was made for you. This week's reflection prompts: Drop "I've been trying to control it" in the comments — and share what it is if you're ready Drop "I need to trust you, God" — and what you need to hand over Drop "Because you say so, Jesus" — and take that one step of faith today Own a piece of Kelvin's work: Each pottery piece is handcrafted by Kelvin himself — a DeafBlind artist, pastor, and storyteller.
