Real Voices

About the commons.

Real Voices is a curated Christian content commons, built for believers who want to take their faith seriously. Every voice on the platform was selected by hand — for theological care, authenticity, and substance across whatever form the work takes: preaching, apologetics, cultural commentary, scholarship, music, humor, testimony.

Formation is the goal. And formation in the 21st-century church doesn’t mean retreating from culture — it means engaging it, including the kinds of content that grab attention in today’s attention economy. Reaching young believers especially means meeting them where they already are.

The floor

What we hold in common.

The historic Nicene Creed and the authority of Scripture are the floor here. Voices on Real Voices stand on that ground.

We believe

  • in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, one essence, eternal and uncreated.
  • that God created all things from nothing, visible and invisible, and sustains all things by His power.
  • that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived without sin, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died, was buried, and rose bodily on the third day. He ascended to the right hand of the Father and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
  • that the Holy Spirit is Lord and giver of life, fully God, who spoke through the prophets and empowers the Church.
  • that salvation comes by the grace of God through the atoning work of Jesus Christ.
  • in one holy, universal, and apostolic Church — the body of Christ across all times and places.
  • in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
  • We receive the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the authoritative witness to God’s revelation.

Iron sharpens iron. There is far more that unites us as the body of Christ than divides us — and Real Voices exists to gather voices across traditions on that shared ground rather than fragment them across separate apps.

Read the historic Nicene Creed (325/381 AD)

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried; and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and he shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets. And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The room above the floor

Where we differ in love.

Within that ground, serious Christians have disagreed for centuries on open-handed questions — creation, baptism, the church calendar, eschatology, modes of worship, governance. You’ll find voices on Real Voices who hold different views, and some who critique each other directly.

That’s what honest Christian discourse looks like. Real Voices is a place where Reformed voices, Catholic voices, Eastern Orthodox voices, charismatic voices, and credobaptist voices can live in the same library. We trust you to weigh them.

What we’re NOT

Not a feed. Not an echo chamber.

Real Voices is not algorithmically optimized for watch time, ad revenue, or engagement maximization. There is no advertising on the platform. Watch counts are not displayed to users — they are a noisy signal on a Christian formation platform and we treat them as such.

We don’t collect or sell behavioral data. There is no tracking pixel, no analytics-on-everything, no cross-site fingerprinting.

Built by

A solo passion project.

Real Voices is built and maintained by one person — Bryan Leyenbeck — under the umbrella of AfterPew Ministries. There’s no VC funding, no ad revenue, no data being sold. Just a love for the church and a conviction that good teaching deserves a better home than the open algorithm.
